NEW YORK and MILAN, September 27, 2023 — BPER Banca Group, one of the leading national banking groups, and Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, today announced a long-term partnership under which Kyndryl will support the bank’s mission-critical IT operation and the strategic evolution of its IT infrastructure. 

The six-year agreement, aimed at supporting the deep transformation and rapid growth of the bank, includes a comprehensive set of Kyndryl infrastructure services in domains such as open systems, mainframe, digital workplace and datacenters, along with consult technology services.  

Particularly, BPER will leverage the Kyndryl Command Center in Italy to complement the activities of the existing staff and to ensure around-the-clock IT monitoring and operations to help prevent business disruptions.

In addition, the datacenters provided by Kyndryl will advance both organizations' business strategies of making IT infrastructure more resilient while reducing energy consumption, increasing the use of renewables and engaging in sustainable practices.

Particularly, through our datacenter overhaul projects, we will increase system resilience while reducing the overall carbon footprint up to 30%. In addition, the partnerships we are activating in manning the various technology towers will enable us to achieve savings in operating costs of 15% to 20%,” said Massimiliano Baga, CIO of BPER Banca.
