PARIS, June 30, 2022 — Limagrain, the French farmer-owned agricultural cooperative and international seed group, has chosen Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world's largest provider of IT infrastructure services, to support its project for centralized governance of its IT infrastructure and the integration of new high-performance computing capabilities.

Faced with a growing world population and a changing climate, meeting food needs is one of the main challenges facing agriculture. To meet this challenge, agricultural production must increase by 60% by 2050 in terms of quantity, quality and diversity. As the fourth largest seed company in the world, Limagrain aims to contribute to meeting these challenges by creating seeds with high added value.

Research is the primary source of value creation for Limagrain, which breeds, produces and sells field seeds, vegetable seeds and agri-food products. The Group employs more than 9000 people, including more than 2000 who contribute to the research process, spread over more than 100 centers in the world. Limagrain's researchers rely on the power of technology to carry out their work efficiently and securely. Research data is generated and aggregated locally before being transmitted and analyzed centrally.

At the heart of the new agreement, Limagrain has entrusted Kyndryl with the management of transformation projects that will enable it to optimize and better manage its IT environment within a unified framework and under a single governance structure. As part of this work, Kyndryl operates and maintains Limagrain's technology infrastructure, including the management of 500 servers, its enterprise resource planning solutions and its various cloud environments.

Kyndryl also supports the integration of a second high-performance computing environment into Limagrain's operations, strengthening the company's research activities, which require intensive computing power and storage capabilities for image analysis. This computing power enables Limagrain to commercialize around 300 new seed varieties per year (out of a total of nearly 6 000 varieties commercialized worldwide).

Christophe Falourd, Limagrain's CIO, emphasizes: "The Group decided to sign with Kyndryl because they were able to propose an offer that reduced costs, improved computing capacity, which is much needed by our research teams, while ensuring our concern for high availability, which is critical for our business. This is the reason why we decided to trust Kyndryl.”

"As a long-standing partner of Limagrain, we support it on a daily basis in the management of its IT systems to help it evolve and develop its business," comments Raphael Sanchez, Kyndryl France's Business Development & Alliances Manager. "Kyndryl's expertise in infrastructure modernization allows Limagrain to improve performance, availability and computing power while reducing costs and allowing them to continue their investments," he concludes.
