Kyndryl to assist with management and development of the organization’s 1 petabyte data lake  

PRAGUE, June 13, 2023 — Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, announced that Czech Social Security Administration (ČSSA), the largest financial administration body in the Czech Republic, selected Kyndryl's services to improve its core IT infrastructure and provide data management services for a database touching more than eight million Czech citizens. 

The system provides information management services and other necessary platform services for ČSSA’s automated information agenda. It will ensure a high-quality digital development of agendas so that they are effective for the state and beneficial for citizens.

Longer life expectancies and a higher percentage of citizens in retirement age have increased pressure on social security systems and the need to provide services and information quickly and efficiently to all citizens. ČSSA therefore focuses on the implementation of new, more flexible and effective solutions that respond to rapid changes and requirements — without significantly increasing IT investment costs. In fact, the new solutions will even make it possible to reduce the operational IT costs.

"This modernization step will place the ČSSA alongside some of the most advanced social security administration systems in Europe," said Milan Shrbený, Director of the information and communication technology section of ČSSA. "As a result, it will lead to improved comfort of citizens and more efficient performance of state administration.”

As part of the agreement with ČSSA, Kyndryl will provide the administration, operation and development of the database using the ČSSA's modernized Central Data Repository (CDÚ), enabling transactions to be as efficient as possible.
