HOLZMINDEN and KELSTERBACH, Germany, September 22, 2022 — Symrise AG, a major producer of fragrances, flavors, food, nutrition, and cosmetic ingredients, entrusted its strategic partner Kyndryl, the world's largest provider of IT infrastructure services, to modernize and standardize 13,000 of its digital workplaces at more than 100 of its sites worldwide. The work extends the companies’ global workplace IT service contract by three more years.

Over the years, Symrise has experienced strong internal growth as it diversified its original core business. These changes, along with numerous corporate acquisitions, drove a decision to modernize the enterprise’s IT infrastructure and the global management of its desktop systems in an effort to improve employee productivity and satisfaction. They also position the company to achieve long-term goals, including its approach toward sustainability, something that sits at the heart of Symrise’s broader corporate strategy.

“We’ve been relying on the expertise of IBM Managed Infrastructure Services since 2016,” says Stefan Tittel, CIO at Symrise AG, “and with Kyndryl’s help as our strategic partner, we’re managing around 13,000 digital workplaces at more than a hundred sites around the world now.”

The services that Kyndryl’s experts provide focuses on optimizing and automating service-related processes like software and hardware provisioning. These changes enable Symrise’s employees to get support in five languages from the Global Service Desk. It also provides access to the Kyndryl Client Innovation Center for streamlining IT asset management, device lifecycle management, terminal equipment management, and office printer services.

“Kyndryl supports us with teams of people specially versed in our general business conditions. That helps us to continuously improve our internal processes and provide a reliable, modern digital workplace for our employees,” adds Paul Watzlawik, Director of IT Infrastructure & Service Management at Symrise.

“The service package has been specially tailored to Symrise’s needs and providing the best IT support possible for its staff. Workplace processes now use international standards worldwide, which makes everyday processes easier for employees to deal with,” says Markus Koerner, President of Kyndryl Germany.
