By Paul Savill, Global Practice Leader of Network and Edge, Kyndryl

There’s a lot of talk in the IT infrastructure services business about being the trusted advisor to the world’s most important enterprises. Since taking the helm a little over a year ago as the global practice leader of Kyndryl’s network and edge business, we have been focused on making that statement a reality.

Today, I’m proud to announce Kyndryl has been recognized by leading analyst firm ISG for our network solutions and advisory services, and Gartner in Magic Quadrant for Managed Network Services. For Kyndryl, this is an especially noteworthy accomplishment just one year into becoming an independent company.

Kyndryl has achieved leadership standing in the 2022 ISG Provider Lens™ Network Software Defined Solutions and Services Report for the U.S. in the following quadrants:

  • Enterprise Networks Technology and Service Suppliers
  • Managed software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN
  • Software-defined networking (SDN) Transformation Services (Consulting and Implementation)

In addition, Gartner has recognized Kyndryl as a Niche Player in its Magic Quadrant for Managed Network Services (MNS).

I believe these recognitions are a testimony to Kyndryl’s growth strategy of advanced delivery, accounts, and alliances since becoming an independent company. This past year, we have established the best in-class partners — including the hyperscalers, Nokia, Intel, Cisco, Vodafone, joined the industrial automation group Universal Automation, and drawn on our joint technologies and expertise to deliver next-generation network technologies for large scale enterprises, including Dow Chemical.

At Kyndryl, we recognize that our people are our biggest assets and invest in reskilling and upskilling our employees. Just as networks and technologies evolve, we provide our employees with the tools and training needed to drive agility and innovation for our customers. Case in point: Kyndryl has the highest number of certifications from AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, and we also achieved Cisco Global Gold Integrator status earlier this year.

The pandemic has shown us that the global economy remains as interwoven as ever, and networks are the building blocks of our society. From providing access to higher education, enabling governments to distribute benefits to millions of citizens, to equipping workers in factories and chemical plants with safer working conditions — networks are critical for personal, business, and machine communication, regardless of geography.

As enterprises look beyond traditional networking abilities to drive business transformation, at Kyndryl, we have proven we are well-positioned to integrate other critical, emerging technologies, including private wireless, edge computing, wide-area network (WAN), cloud networking, and secure access service edge (SASE). Leveraging our expertise in digital business transformation areas — cloud, data and AI, and security and resiliency, to name a few — we remain committed to being an unbiased, trusted partner to our customers around the world.

I’m proud of the progress we have made in year one. It has been a challenging but fun journey to build new teams, develop and deliver all-encompassing solutions, and form new partnerships and customers. Important work remains ahead in 2023 for Kyndryl as we continue to modernize mission critical technology systems that the world depends on. We will showcase 5G private wireless and edge computing use cases across industries, from retail and manufacturing to energy at the National Retail Federation (NRF) conference taking place from Jan. 14-17 in New York, and Mobile World Congress (MWC), in Barcelona, Spain, from Feb. 27-March 2. Looking ahead, we will continue to execute on driving agility, flexibility, productivity and profitability – and co-innovating for the enterprises of tomorrow.
