Rick Ruiz is the President of Kyndryl Strategic Markets. This is one of Kyndryl’s four reporting segments, and it covers 49 countries across Europe, Asia and Latin America. Rick is responsible for overseeing Kyndryl’s P&L, strategy, operations and overall performance for this segment.
A veteran IBM sales and technology executive, Rick was selected to lead the IBM effort to spin off its Infrastructure Services division into a new company by the close of 2021. Kyndryl was listed on the NY Stock Exchange on November 4, 2021, with approximately 90,000 employees worldwide and more than 4,000 customers, including 75% of the Fortune 100.
Prior to joining Kyndryl, Rick previously served as General Manager for IBM Services for Europe and the Middle East and General Manager of Technology Support Services Worldwide, leading the $7B+ global organization and providing support services to clients in more than 170 countries.
Rick joined IBM in 1986 and has held many leadership roles, including General Manager of Business Continuity and Resiliency Services, General Manager of Strategic Outsourcing for Asia Pacific, and General Manager of the worldwide General Business Organization within GTS. Rick also served as the Client Advocacy Executive for IBM Chairman Sam Palmisano.
Rick earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Fullerton California State University and has lived in China, Spain, and the UAE. He currently lives in Connecticut.
