Tom Rourke (Host): As generative AI dominated early 2025 conversations, is there now a clearer understanding among leaders about the different types of AI applications? Or is it still a challenge to get people beyond the hype and into real insight and understanding?

Gina Fratarcangeli: I typically advise enterprise-level CXOs not to be too concerned about the rapid pace of AI and agentic technology development and instead encourage leaders to stay focused on business outcomes and hold their tech teams accountable for choosing the right technology tools—just as they would in any other strategic decision. With thousands of AI product announcements happening monthly, the landscape is fast-moving and unpredictable, making outcome-driven leadership essential. (Hear the full response at 12:20)

Tom Rourke: At a human level, what sets AI leaders apart? What barriers are employees facing, and how can they overcome them to fully embrace the technology?

Todd Scott: There’s often a gap in connecting the business case for AI to how it creates or enhances capabilities. You need business leaders to support transformation projects, but it’s equally important to involve employees whose roles may evolve or require retraining. I often remind clients to include HR early—if the project impacts people, the transformation must reach across the organization. Many teams understand their processes but don’t consistently consider how technology can improve efficiency across areas like supply chain, finance, and HR. When that challenge comes from the CEO or board, I think that's where real magic happens. (Hear the full response at 15:07)

Gina Fratarcangeli: That’s why it’s important to build an advisory council that includes both seasoned professionals and those with less experience, because newer perspectives aren’t shaped by past setbacks and can bring creative thinking. (Hear the full response at 16:09)
