A sugar production and distribution leader in North America was lacking a single source of truth in data, which was costly and put the firm at risk of regulatory compliance consequences.

Kyndryl helped the customer develop a modernization roadmap and architecture, integrating SAP data into Google Cloud and deploying natural language and Generative AI tools to ensure data access and observability.

This strategic partnership — from advise, to build, implementation and management — delivered an integrated and strengthened data ecosystem ready for dynamic change.

Large steel manufacturer

Modernizing data for increased efficiency

A large steel manufacturer faced legacy data challenges with widely distributed silos and multiple cloud vendors spread across many geographic regions. The company had no efficient way to scale its platforms or augment the collection or governance of data.

Kyndryl helped the customer consolidate its data lakes into one hyperscaler environment in a single location. We migrated key infrastructure, legacy data and pipelines to that same integrated location, standardizing data ingestion flows, assessing quality and enhancing security to strengthen data governance.

The customer was able to successfully augment data quality, automate quality checks to bolster productivity, reduce time to delivery for new AI projects, and reduce overall data maintenance costs.

Postal and e-commerce company

Improving customer experience with GenAI

A large postal and e-commerce company's customer support team was having difficulty responding to customer emails in a timely manner, which led to inaccurate responses and lower customer satisfaction

Kyndryl developed a GenAI solution to triage and classify the emails by topic and service. By creating a custom prompt library trained on the client’s example communications, we created a 5-tier sentiment analysis tool, ranging from very negative to very positive. The model was then fine-tuned and tested, and a custom app was built to enable customer support agents to efficiently generate accurate responses to end-users.

Deploying the custom app led to quicker turnaround times, lower demands on company personnel, and a much-improved customer experience through prompt and effective responses.
