What’s the significance of Kyndryl’s new collaboration with NVIDIA?

NVIDIA is a leader in generative AI, and being able to combine their innovations with our expertise to serve our customers is another exciting expansion of the capabilities our alliances and ecosystem partners have helped drive. Our NVIDIA partnership is further evidence of Kyndryl’s pivot from transformation to growth after only two and a half years as an independent company. Everybody wants to collaborate with NVIDIA, so we view their choice to work with us as a vote of confidence in our firm and our capabilities.

What are some of the specific benefits that Kyndryl and NVIDIA will bring to customers?

By integrating NVIDIA AI into Kyndryl Bridge, we’ll enable NVIDIA software to support customers in a hybrid cloud environment. That level of integration has been a big challenge for businesses, but we’ll have our technical expertise and business insights from Kyndryl Consult to help us guide our customers in their adoptions of AI.

This really is a three-way play among Kyndryl Bridge, Kyndryl Consult and NVIDIA that will drive significant value by accelerating generative AI performance to enhance the speed and efficiency of AI adoption across the industries we serve. Implementing generative AI is a challenge for many organizations. Why is that?

While many C-suite executives are prioritizing generative AI projects, the majority are struggling with moving beyond exploring and testing solutions. Even modest progress doesn’t guarantee success. In fact, for most customers the transition from proof-of-concept to deployment remains elusive. 

Remember, it is critical to start with good data. Implementing generative AI in businesses is challenging due to the need for good data and the use of Large Language Model Operations (LLMOps) frameworks to drive data safety and reliability. Businesses must also manage the impact of generative AI on their entire data and AI systems, which can be a significant undertaking.

What does a business need to do to harness the benefits of generative AI while mitigating its risks?

The risks include the potential for bias, the need for accuracy in AI-generated content and the security of data when using public large language models. These risks must be carefully managed to avoid negative consequences. Businesses need to adopt a comprehensive approach to data management, know the capabilities and limitations of generative AI, understand how AI models are built and trained, and develop a strategic implementation plan to harness its benefits while mitigating its risks.

What’s unique about how Kyndryl Bridge will integrate with NVIDIA AI?

To help customers quickly and efficiently deploy generative AI across their businesses, Kyndryl is applying its unique mix of end-to-end services and IP, including the Kyndryl Bridge open integration platform, to support the NVIDIA technology stack.
