The alliance will allow the operator to offer the best ecosystem of services and technologies to help companies in their digitization and transformation process

The portfolio of services offered jointly by the two companies covers all stages of an organization's multi-cloud digitization process and is tailored to the customer's needs at all times

Madrid, July 14, 2022. - Vodafone, Europe's leading telecommunications operator, and Kyndryl, the world's largest provider of technology infrastructure services, have signed a strategic agreement to help corporate customers (private companies as well as public organizations) in the Spanish market to adopt hybrid multicloud strategies that drive their digitization.

The agreement builds on the long-standing relationship of trust between Kyndryl and Vodafone Business and will enable both companies to offer the best ecosystem of services and technologies to help organizations accelerate their digitization, based on a cloud infrastructure that facilitates the development of technologies such as the Internet of Things or 5G.

Vodafone and Kyndryl will provide deep technological knowledge and advanced capabilities, which can be quickly adapted according to the needs of each organization. The service model is oriented to cover the specific needs of customers in Spain, but with the support and best practices of Vodafone and Kyndryl globally. This includes 700 professionals and experts in cloud technologies working as a single team and using agile methodologies.

The range of services offered jointly under this alliance encompasses the entire cloud digitization process, with the aim of meeting the technical and business requirements of each organization. First, advice is provided on cloud adoption, how to undertake the transformation and how to take advantage of its benefits. This is followed by the design, implementation and configuration of the new multi-cloud infrastructure, as well as the migration of the current infrastructure and applications to the new environments. Finally, the distributed cloud environments are monitored, managed and maintained across different platforms, providers, locations and services.

"We are convinced that this agreement will allow companies to consolidate their digital transformation process thanks to the best ecosystem of cloud computing, IoT and 5G services that we make available to them, which is key in a context in which technological changes are occurring at great speed," explains Daniel Jiménez, director of Vodafone Business.

"This agreement with Vodafone will allow companies to establish a complete strategy for their hybrid multicloud journey. Thanks to this strategic alliance, our customers can benefit from the service of two market-leading companies that are the best in their respective fields: on the one hand, they gain access to Vodafone's strengths in IoT, 5G and edge computing and, on the other hand, they benefit from Kyndryl's expertise in multi-cloud and hosted infrastructure," says Luis Roca, President of Kyndryl Spain and Portugal.

The advantages of the hybrid multicloud model
Hybrid Multicloud strategy allows companies to distribute their applications and workloads between different public and private cloud providers, as well as on-premise. This model allows companies to achieve maximum optimization, using the services and platforms that best suit their needs. The hybrid approach is the most widely used by companies in their digital transformation process and allows them to make their existing resources and systems compatible with new cloud deployments.

Through this agreement, Vodafone and Kyndryl will jointly provide collaborative tools and advanced corporate connectivity, private cloud and 5G services, while bringing all their extensive experience and capabilities to help companies build, migrate and operate infrastructures based on a hybrid multicloud model, obtaining the following advantages:

  • Security: the more technological alternatives a company has, the better the possibilities for data protection.
  • Cost reduction: due to the flexibility of hybrid multicloud environments, companies can choose the most viable financial option according to their needs.
  • Autonomy: each organization is free to choose the best location for each of its applications, according to the needs of its services.
  • Infrastructure optimization: infrastructure can be customised and optimized according to business needs.
  • Flexibility: organizations will have the ability to integrate different cloud providers.

Driving the digital transformation of enterprises
The alliance with Kyndryl reinforces the positioning of Vodafone as a digital partner for companies, whose objective is to help consolidate their digital transformation process.

Recently, Vodafone has launched 'Augmented Connectivity Lite, an advanced connectivity and integrated security solution for SMEs with which the operator provides advanced connectivity, security and teleworking functionalities, or technology solutions packages for SMEs.

The agreement adds to Vodafone's strategy to deliver end-to-end cloud services and provide hybrid working tools to support small and medium-sized businesses across Europe, leveraging the capabilities offered by 5G, Edge Computing and the Internet of Things (IoT).
