Kyndryl Chairman and CEO Martin Schroeter discussed cyber resiliency and setting global artificial intelligence standards with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Tuesday during his first State Visit to the U.S.

As part of an industry roundtable, hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Japan, Schroeter highlighted Kyndryl’s ongoing commitment and investment in Japan.

“We proudly serve hundreds of Japanese companies across multiple industries,” said Schroeter, referring to the technology company’s long history in Japan. “We're investing in our Japan business through skills initiatives and modernizing our facilities including a new headquarters in Roppongi and resilient data center so we can continue to support the mission-critical systems that Japanese citizens and businesses depend on.”

Earlier this year Kyndryl Japan relocated its head office to Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. The new headquarters promotes engagement and productivity through hybrid work.

Given Japan’s global leadership on digital trade — including most recently on AI — Schroeter raised the prospect of the country also taking on a prominent role in encouraging collaboration between industry and government, as well as advocating for international digital standards on cyber resiliency.
