Kyndryl uses Agentic AI to support biodiversity in Luxembourg

Kyndryl serves as trusted AI partner to StartFromBee SIS, helping improve how environmental impact is measured and understood

LUXEMBOURG, June 9, 2026Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise technology services, today announced a collaboration with StartFromBee SIS, a Luxembourg-based impact company (Société d’Impact Sociétal), to support biodiversity and environmental sustainability in Luxembourg using advanced data and agentic AI capabilities.

Kyndryl and StartFromBee SIS are focused on strengthening biodiversity and local ecosystems through the development of pollinator-friendly environments, sustainable habitats and technology that will enable a deeper understanding of ecosystem health. Pollinators such as bees play a critical role within this system by supporting plant life and serving as natural indicators of environmental conditions.

“This initiative reflects how we apply AI in a practical and human-centric way, using technology to support environmental sustainability and the communities that depend on it,” said Willo Peters, Director, Engagement Partner, Kyndryl BeNeLux. “It also highlights how technology can be a force for good, helping protect the ecosystems that people rely on every day. By working with local partners in Luxembourg, we are reinforcing our commitment to contribute meaningfully to the society where we operate.”

“Our mission is to restore biodiversity by creating resilient habitats where pollinators and ecosystems can thrive,” said Massimo Sabbatucci, Founder, StartFromBee SIS. “The collaboration with Kyndryl demonstrates how nature-based action and technology can work hand in hand to generate meaningful environmental impact. By combining our expertise in sustainable beekeeping and biodiversity restoration with Kyndryl’s AI capabilities, we can better understand ecosystem health, measure outcomes, and help accelerate efforts to protect pollinators and strengthen biodiversity.”

As part of the collaboration, Kyndryl is developing and providing AI-driven capabilities, built on Kyndryl Agentic AI Framework to support environmental monitoring. Multiple specialized AI agents operate in a coordinated pipeline, performing distinct tasks such as detection and classification, research using external datasets, and contextual analysis based on environmental and geolocation inputs.

The solution uses camera-based systems and data analysis to track pollinator activity across species, identify patterns and analyze behavior. These insights will help build a more detailed and measurable view of biodiversity and ecosystem dynamics over time.

Through this work, Kyndryl is reinforcing its commitment to being an active participant in the communities where it operates. The project also highlights how advanced technologies such as AI can support not only business transformation, but also meaningful societal and environmental outcomes.
