Nicolas Sekkaki discusses the importance of a strong data foundation and company culture

Generative AI has become one of the hottest technologies in the last year. With an increase in popularity and public attention, businesses have been working quickly to capture generative AI’s value and identify ways to help their customers use it.

“We are living in a phenomenal moment, with a revolution coming in,” said Nicolas Sekkaki, Kyndryl’s Applications, Data and AI global practice leader. “Customers are coming to us and they’re asking how to apply generative AI. The reality is around how are we going to scale generative AI so that everyone can implement it responsibly — and that begins with a trusted data foundation.”

To that end, Kyndryl recently adopted Microsoft 365 Copilot to boost its employees’ efficiency and drive productivity and collaboration. For its customers, Kyndryl developed an AI-readiness program, which includes identifying generative AI use cases, establishing a strong data foundation and providing the ongoing execution and management support needed for the technology to be used to its full potential cost effectively.

At Microsoft Ignite 2023, Sekkaki spoke with Karuana Gatimu, Microsoft Customer Advocacy Group’s Principal Manager, about the future of generative AI, how the largest IT infrastructure services provider in the world is supporting customers in their generative AI goals and what organizations need to embrace to successfully integrate the technology into their business.
