Kyndryl supports cloud modernization of SBI Sumishin Net Bank’s core banking system

TOKYO, February 25, 2026 — Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), a leading provider of mission critical enterprise technology services, announced that it was selected by SBI Sumishin Net Bank to support the cloud modernization of its core banking system. Kyndryl will build infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and deliver managed services after the launch.

SBI Sumishin Net Bank is promoting an advanced cloud core banking system for digital banks with improved scalability and efficiency to flexibly respond to sustainable business growth. It is currently building a system that can handle data volumes on the scale of 30 million accounts. The cloud infrastructure that supports this system also requires large-scale and capacity support, scalability and efficiency improvement, and business continuity, which are important to implementing advanced cloud technologies and high-quality operations to support the core banking system. 

Kyndryl Consult will help build a cloud infrastructure that supports safety, security and stability, leveraging its skills and experience supporting mission-critical systems. Kyndryl will also leverage its strong partnership with AWS in Japan to support this work. Additionally, generative AI will be used for document creation and progress management to streamline overall project operations. After the launch, Kyndryl will provide high-quality managed cloud services by promoting further automation to improve quality and operational efficiency.
