SZÉKESFEHÉRVÁR, Hungary, October 17, 2022 – The University of Óbuda and Kyndryl Hungary – Kyndryl Client Innovation Center signed an agreement today to establish the Kyndryl Industrial Department at the Alba Regia Faculty of Technology in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, focusing on the education of cloud technologies and related fields to prepare the students for the jobs of the future.
Kyndryl delivers courses in cloud technology with its own experts through the Virtual Department and is involved in teaching advanced mathematics. The students can access the courses from remote locations from the whole university involving those studying in Budapest and enhance the skills and knowledge of modern IT areas where Kyndryl has expertise.
Both the company and the university consider education in cloud technologies to be vital because more and more companies and institutions are moving their IT applications to the cloud. Moving to the cloud is a complex process that requires managed infrastructure service providers, like Kyndryl, that have a wide range of skills and expertise. Kyndryl's Client Innovation Center in Székesfehérvár was established in 1997. Today, the center employs more than 3,000 professionals to support customers across the industries in designing, building, managing and modernizing their mission-critical technology systems.
Kyndryl and the Alba Regia Faculty of Technology of Óbuda University will continue to develop and expand the collaboration by creating more curricula, launching new courses in different areas, offering research topics and participating in examination boards. Kyndryl is already one of the University's largest dual training partners, entering this program in 2016 and where 98% of the dual students were hired after their graduation till now.
Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Óbuda University, said: “It is of key importance in strengthening the domestic economy is to ensure that higher education graduates have up-to-date, practical skills and are responsive to change. Óbuda University has always placed great emphasis on developing its industrial relations to enable students to deepen both their theoretical and their practical skills as well. Our dual system, that we are consistently expanding, covers nearly all areas of technical and economic life. The Alba Regia Faculty of Technology in Székesfehérvár is the best example, with 161 students currently benefiting from local companies' contributions to their studies, ensuring that they get to know the operation of a plant and the coordination of production processes while still at university.”
Zoltán Zerényi, Director of Client Innovation Center, EMEA highlighted: “Kyndryl has been constantly seeking and developing the next generation of talent before they enter the labor market, working closely with educational institutions for mutual success: for the professional fulfilment of great students, narrowing tech skills gap and for the prosperity of the company.
