Hard work pays off

When you put effort into training and certification planning, it pays off. I’m proud to have consistently put in the time — sometimes outside of normal business hours — to achieve my learning goals. Cloud technology is continuously evolving, so it's essential to stay up to date with the latest developments and consider pursuing advanced certifications or renewing existing ones.

My favorite part of my new role

As a cloud architect, I have been involved in designing solutions to implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps for better business outcomes for customers and meeting their requirements. This valuable experience is helping me grow my Azure skillset as we grow our cloud business at Kyndryl and deliver new and innovative solutions for our customers.

My personal cloud career journey

Kyndryl’s “Cloud Career Journey” learning program helped me overcome self-doubt and develop new skillsets, while experiencing real-time situations through practice labs. I am currently providing support to Microsoft Azure cloud customers, and I continue to upskill myself on the platform so I can handle the challenges of my role with ease and confidence.

Selecting the right training path for my career

When the COVID-19 crisis unfolded, businesses began to accelerate their digital transformations to cloud. As a result, hybrid work enabled business continuity and has been made possible by hyperscalers like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud — they offer a range of technology services needed to take cloud value to the next level. I decided to grow my expertise in Azure Cloud because it aligned with customers’ needs and my own interest in the platform. My goal for the future is to become certified in all top cloud technology, along with DevOps.

New skills prepared me for a new role

When I started my certification journey, I was overwhelmed with the support from Kyndryl’s learning team and the many training opportunities available to me. I recently joined the cloud container team at Kyndryl, and while it can be challenging at times, it encourages me to continue improving and developing new skills.

Practice (and planning) makes perfect

As early as possible, check your knowledge gaps and pinpoint your goals — then you can prepare learning plans accordingly. Once you organize all the required resources for a certification, become familiar with the syllabus and exam guide. If you find yourself stuck on complex concepts, take practice tests and read associated whitepapers or blogs to discover real use cases. Also, always be your own best advocate and nominate yourself for upcoming trainings and learning programs.

Change is inevitable, adaptability is essential

Working with hyperscaler cloud providers is now a fundamental component of an organization’s IT modernization project. Kyndryl offered me multiple training and certification opportunities that have helped me expand my technical expertise. I chose to upskill with Microsoft Azure because it gave me the opportunity to learn more about customer infrastructure and support their business-as-usual operations related to Azure cloud. Continuous training and certifications reinforce the trust our customers have in Kyndryl and the services, support and resources we offer.
