Volunteer engagement

Deed is Kyndryl’s volunteer engagement platform. It enables scaled employee participation, allows all global employees to volunteer or donate to nonprofits across our three focus areas and helps Kyndryls connect easily with over 2 million vetted nonprofits.

In FY24 we recorded the following results:

  • More than 25% of Kyndryl employees have registered on Deed, logging 30,000+ hours in the platform globally
  • 350+ volunteering events and 50+ campaigns were organized
  • 4,500+ employees received Kyndryl Social Impact volunteering certificates
  • 480+ nonprofit organizations supported by Kyndryls through this platform

Inspiring young minds to pursue STEM

Kyndryl US 

Kyndryl's Women in Data Science Chapter organized a Celebrating Women in Tech event featuring panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities to inspire high school girls from the Academy of Innovative Technology to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). 

Ideathon for better customer service

Kyndryl Japan 

Nine volunteers from Kyndryl Japan visited Fuchu Technical High School to facilitate an ideathon workshop for 28 students where the volunteers helped first-year students brainstorm ways and leverage technology to solve professional challenges.

Keeping marine lifeline clean

Kyndryl Brazil

More than 40 Kyndryls volunteered to help clean up the Atibaia River in Campinas, Brazil, which is a lifeline to more than 1.5 million people in the region. The volunteers paddled and removed approximately 600 kilograms of waste from the river.

 

Mentoring students on menstrual health

Kyndryl India

Multiple menstrual health and hygiene workshops were organized in Indian government schools across several cities. Kyndryl volunteers conducted sessions on the importance of menstrual health and distributed menstrual hygiene kits to the students. 
 

Reconciliation Action Plan

Kyndryl’s first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) recognizes the long-standing culture and history of First Nations Peoples and highlights the actions Kyndryl will take to make Reconciliation a reality.

 

Earth Month

People across the world celebrate Earth Month in April, but for many Kyndryls that celebration happens all year long. They contribute to a greener future every day, both at work and at home. 

 

Planting for a greener planet

Kyndryl Portugal

Around 50 Kyndryl volunteers planted 1,400 saplings and harvested more than 2.5 tons of agricultural products. This activity was organized to support a sustainable and inclusive project that aims to train and socially-professionally integrate people with intellectual difficulties.

Shaping the future

Kyndryl Hungary 

In multiple Career Orientation Day activities, Kyndryl volunteers mentored 220 students from Grades 5 to graduating classes. The volunteers interacted with the students and their teachers, discussed industry trends, and shared a view of the career opportunities available at Kyndryl. 
 

Gaining insights into the tech world

Kyndryl UKI

25 Computer Science students and teachers visited the Kyndryl office in Dublin, Ireland to gain insights into the technology sector, and help with build skills for the workplace and data centers and drive them on their career journeys. The speakers included several senior Kyndryl leaders. 

Kindness is a choice

Kyndryl Romania

Iuliana Dragut believes in kindness. She volunteers as a teacher for the Romanian non-profit Asociatia Tara Tinerilor Uniti and helps empower children from disadvantaged rural areas. 

 

Cybersecurity workshops for kids

Kyndryl received the TOP Responsible Company Helping the Environment award from the 2022 TOP Responsible Firm awards for Kyndryl volunteers’ work on Cybersecurity Workshops for Kids project.
 

Helping others by teambuilding

Over 130 Kyndryls took part in a teambuilding activity and collaborated with Milosurdie za teb ("compassion for you")  to help get school supplies for vulnerable kids in Varna.
 

Zero waste volunteering

Kyndryl’s Eco Stream volunteer group, an employee group dedicated to supporting environmental sustainability and zero waste, worked together to build eco-friendly kennels for dogs.
 

Empowering students through AI

Volunteers from Kyndryl Poland and the Client Innovation Center partners with the Marek Kaminski Foundation and Google Cloud to teach kids about AI using a humanoid robot named Noa.
