NEW YORK and ROME, April 20, 2023 – Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, today announced it has established in Rome a Cyber Operations Center with 170 specialists that provides support and protection for the entire lifecycle of cyber threats using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and integrated automation systems.

Installed in the Tecnopolo Tiburtino, in a Tier IV Data Center, the Cyber Operations Center offers combined and extensive management of security and resilience, two fundamental elements for the digital transformation of the economy.

The evolution of infrastructures toward hybrid models, the adoption of agile work with its organizational impacts, compliance with regulations to safeguard data, and the development of cybercrime capable of conducting increasingly frequent and sophisticated attacks are all challenges that require companies to rethink their defense in an advanced manner.

"The imperative today is to identify, protect, detect, respond and restore the original conditions," said Federico Botti, Practice Leader Security & Resilience at Kyndryl Italy. "In other words, this means acting not only proactively and reactively to threats but also adaptively, precisely to be able to guarantee the possibility of undoing the damage, both economic and reputational, that any attack can produce. Security and resilience are two sides of the same coin, both indispensable."

The Cyber Operations Center in Rome leverages Kyndryl's international scale – among its nearly 90,000 employees, more than 7,500 experts manage the security of more than 4,000 customers in every industry – and global partnerships with major hyperscalers, and security and resiliency companies.

With the oversight of a Global CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team), the contribution of a Red Team – a group of ethical hacking security experts – and the availability of an in-house Malware Lab, the Cyber Operations Center has an advanced architecture that adds a powerful and flexible orchestration and automation (SOAR) platform to the features of classic basic and intermediate Security Operation Centers.

The Center's portfolio of cyber resilience services – Security Assurance, Soc-Response, Zero Trust, and Incident Recovery – support Kyndryl's Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) capabilities, which encompass designing and delivering managed services on all aspects affecting customer security (EDR - Endpoint Detection/Response, NDR-Network Detection/Response, IAM/PAM-Identity/Privileged Access Management, Network Security, Application/API Security).

Currently, the center supports 10 companies operating in the finance, public transportation, publishing, commodity manufacturing, and public administration sectors for a total of 40,000 EPS, with the goal of increasing to 100,000 by September.
