As organizations navigate a period of rapid technological change, responsible business practices are more important than ever and increasingly what customers expect from a trusted partner. Kyndryl is embedding these practices into its operations, developing future-ready skills, supporting communities and strengthening governance for emerging technologies, all in service of the customers who rely on Kyndryl and the growth we are building together.
In its newly released fiscal 2026 Corporate Citizenship Report, Kyndryl details its progress across three pillars: Environment, People and Trust.
Here, Faith Taylor, Senior Vice President of Global Citizenship and Sustainability, discusses the report’s key findings, what Kyndryl teams have accomplished together and how this work is strengthening customer relationships and fueling growth.
What is the biggest takeaway from Kyndryl’s fiscal year 2026 Corporate Citizenship Report?
Our corporate citizenship strategy is built around three pillars: Environment, People and Trust. What stands out to me this year is how far we have come since we set out on this journey almost five years ago and how directly that progress now shows up in the value we deliver to customers. What began as a set of commitments has become measurable, sustained progress, and that did not happen by chance. It happened because people across every part of our organization showed up, took ownership and kept pushing forward. In fiscal 2026, we reduced our environmental footprint, invested in our people’s skills and development and expanded our impact in communities we serve around the world.
These efforts are interconnected, and customers are at the center of that connection. Reducing emissions helps strengthen the resilience of our operations and theirs. Developing our people helps us provide the expertise our customers are looking for as they modernize and grow. Supporting communities helps more individuals participate in the increasingly digital economy that fuels our customers’ talent pipelines and markets.
Looking back across four years, this progress shows how embedding responsibility into business can advance human progress, deepen customer trust and create long-term value for our company, customers and stakeholders. I am deeply proud of everyone who helped us get here.
What progress has Kyndryl made toward its environmental goals?
We made extremely meaningful progress this year, and it reflects four years of consistent, disciplined work that also helps our customers meet their own sustainability commitments. We reduced our total greenhouse gas emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 34% compared with our fiscal 2023 baseline. This moves us toward our Science Based Targets initiative-validated 2030 goals to be down 50% and supports our continued ambition to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
We also purchased 30% less electricity than we did in 2023, with renewable sources accounting for 63% of our purchased electricity. In addition, we achieved a 99.91% landfill-diversion rate for IT e-waste.
These results highlight practical steps we have taken across our operations, from optimizing data centers and improving energy efficiency to increasing our use of renewable energy — steps that ultimately make us a more resilient, efficient partner for our customers.

How is Kyndryl preparing its workforce for the future of technology?
The technology landscape is rapidly evolving, and we want our employees to have the skills they need to grow in their careers and help our customers navigate that change with confidence. During fiscal 2026, Kyndryls invested 3.5 million hours in learning across AI, cloud, security, resiliency and other advanced technologies. Our people completed 1.3 million trainings and held more than 108,800 digital credentials, all of which translate into deeper expertise for customers who rely on us.
We also launched the AI Learning Hub, which brings together role- and skill-aligned learning paths, certifications and hands-on resources. It is designed to help Kyndryls develop practical, responsible AI skills that are relevant to their roles and matched to our customers’ changing needs.
Continuous learning is one part of creating an environment where employees can thrive. Our employee engagement score increased by five points compared with the prior year, surpassing the industry average. Development, belonging and well-being are embedded in our culture, The Kyndryl Way, and these results show that five years of investing in our people is making a real difference for our customers and our own growth as a company.
How is Kyndryl continuing to support communities around the world?
We believe technology can be a force for good and help expand economic opportunity. We also recognize that we have a responsibility to help people in the communities we serve develop the skills that they will need for the future – skills that ultimately grow the talent pool and markets our customers depend on. That is why we focus our community efforts on three areas where our expertise and collaboration can make the greatest difference: future-forward education, inclusive economy and climate action.
Through the Kyndryl Foundation, our philanthropic arm, we provided more than 474,000 hours of learning and reached over 46,000 individuals during the second year of our grant program. We also announced our third-year grants to 14 nonprofit organizations across 13 countries.
Our people bring this commitment to life. In fiscal 2026, Kyndryls contributed more than 45,000 volunteer hours, an increase of more than 15% from the previous year, and participated in more than 700 events supporting over 300 nonprofit organizations. Looking back over four years, it is a true testament to the generosity of our people in sharing their time and expertise with communities around the world.
What’s next for Kyndryl’s corporate citizenship efforts?
The rapid evolution of technology will continue to create new opportunities and responsibilities for businesses and for the customers who trust us to help them grow. As we mark almost five years as an independent company, I want to thank every Kyndryl for the pride, dedication and generosity that have carried us this far and made us a stronger partner to our customers. As we move forward, we will build on our momentum and continue to work together to create a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future — one that supports the growth of our company and the customers we serve.
