Landgard extends collaboration with Kyndryl to establish sustainable IT operations

NEW YORK/STRAELEN-HERONGEN, April 22, 2026 — Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise technology services, and Landgard, one of Germany’s leading producer cooperatives in the green sector, today announced a five-year contract extension to manage and modernize its IT infrastructure running on SAP. Building on a relationship that began in 2008, the renewed agreement marks a pivotal step in Landgard’s continued digital transformation and sustainability goals. 

As part of the extended agreement, Kyndryl will continue delivering SAP Basis operations and hosting services that provide a reliable, scalable and resilient infrastructure underpinning Landgard’s SAP operations. The agreement supports Landgard’s potential future migration to SAP Cloud ERP Private, with Kyndryl acting as both a transformation and operational partner.

Enterprises across the agriculture and production sector are facing rising demands for digital efficiency, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility. Kyndryl’s sustainability services align with these objectives. 

Landgard selected Kyndryl in particular for its corporate sustainability strategy, which is deeply embedded in its operations. In FY25, the company delivered an 18% reduction in total greenhouse gas emissions (GHG, market-based) compared to its fiscal 2023 baseline. This underscores Kyndryl’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. Fifty-eight percent of its purchased energy worldwide comes from renewable sources, and Kyndryl operates with 100% renewable electricity in Germany.

The extended agreement supports Landgard in modernizing its SAP environment while maintaining operational excellence. Kyndryl’s flexible hosting model enables high availability and compliance, while its Advanced Delivery Framework and strong CIO-level collaboration foster continued innovation. As part of the expanded roadmap, Kyndryl and Landgard are identifying new transformation opportunities, including legacy system modernization and the application of AI technologies.

The long-standing relationship between Kyndryl and Landgard includes earlier collaborations on infrastructure modernization and SAP operations. The new agreement reflects the evolution of that partnership into a transformational collaboration that will enable Landgard to scale, optimize costs and continue its sustainability journey with confidence.
